Newsreel clip of a major UK air defence exercise in 1951. US aircraft also took part. At the time it was the biggest post WWII air exercise. The clip also shows the Royal Observer Corps at work, this is just prior to their change to the nuclear monitoring and warning role.

Originally made in 1991 as a recruiting film for the Royal Observer Corps. The Corps was stood down  the same year and the film was not released in its intended form.

Royal Observer Corps Royal Review 1991

The Royal Review of the Royal Observer Corps 25th July 1991 at RAF Bentley Priory. The ROC was stood down in 1991 following a long history of service to the nation. Two thousand members of the Corps attended the Review, when Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II presented the Corps' new colours.
